It is a good piece of art. I just think that the pose is a bit forced. Is she being struck by something? Why does she bend back like that? Why the cheesy tattoo on her stomach? Is she in some sort of danger? ... No, her eyes say a different story.
The light, shading, textures and colours are all great.
The figure in the back is a watcher, it tells me its bad as the cloak is over the face. But again, the maiden <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/> seems oblivious to this.
I get the feeling that she is like a lost belly dancer in a lost world.
There are lots of positives in this piece, just the woman in the foreground might need to be replaced.
I love the whites in the windows as well, they first grab you on the right side, then pull you down to where the figure in the is standing. You have the white highlight take you directly to him. This is a great way to highlight the imposing darkness.
I hope this is not too harsh.
